We’ve spent the better part of the last couple of weeks looking for just the right vehicle to replace our primary vehicle. A month or so ago, I mentioned to Mr. Nicklebee that I liked a particular truck. (Here’s an example of the sort of truck I’m talking about, the kind of truck that doesn’t rip its guts out just backing out of the driveway. See lowriders.)
Aunt Knockknees has one of these and she’s pretty happy with it. She looks cool driving it, too. She and her twin labs.
By the way, speaking of Knockknees, my beef in my previous post was with the manufacturer’s instruction, not the giver. I’m sorry that I gave that impression. Knockknees is a very thoughtful person, and, other than her numb skull sister in-law, she’s a gem.
Just so we’re clear on that.
Anyway, we finally made up our minds and picked up a Pontiac Montana this morning. It looks all shiny and stuff, almost like new only used.
I would really have liked something with a whole lotta space but this will definitely do for our purposes.I will miss my other van but it’ll be nice to be able to go someplace and know when I start out that my wheels are fully functional and, Lord willing, I’ll get where I need to go.
One weird thing about this van is the automatic side door. I’m sure the sales people got a laugh out of us trying to yank the door open. I had seen other vans with motorized sliding doors but I hadn’t seen it on this one so it took me by surprise. The little Man got a huge kick out of it the first six or eight times he pressed the door button.
The one problem with used vehicles is that there’s usually something that needs to be fixed. This one is no exception so I’m off to buy a couple of things for it. Other than this problem, it seems to be in good shape. Hopefully it’ll be a relatively quick and easy fix.
Have a great weekend!

Woo-hoo! Now y’all can meet us on the UP this summer, right?
Of course!
Congratulations on the car!!!! Have fun driving it!!!
Sounds like you’ll be fixing the door if you’re not too careful! I’m like that with automatic windows. My car has about 3 knobs in it, lights, indicators and heating on or off… oh yes and the hazards. That’s it. So any gadgets and I break out the idle thumbs, pressing buttons galore!
Cheers
