This week’s WFMW is themed “What do I fix?”
“It’s 5:15 pm, the kids are hungry, you have a headache, hubby is almost home, and the pantry has three things in it. What is your BEST last-minute meal recipe?”
1. Learn about broiling meat! The meals I have made recently that have involved the broiler have been GREAT! Tasty, nutritious and most important: QUICK.
2. My best last minute meal recipe is broiled pork chops, nuked frozen veggies and spaghetti on the side. If we don’t have spaghetti sauce, we have been known to use butter or a butter substitute and garlic salt or Italian dressing. When we do this, assuming we have clean table service and cooking stuff (a pan, spatula or tongs, microwavable bowl, etc.), we are usually seated and starting to eat within 20 min.
I’ve done this with steak, sliced roasts, and fish and, because I’m allergic and won’t touch the stuff, my husband and oldest son have done chicken breasts.
Check out what works for others!
Oh, whoops! There isn’t even a thread yet! I can’t believe I’m early for something. *time lapse of … oh … about 15 minutes* Okay, links are there.

Yes, broiling IS great!
