I took one of my kids to an Ear, Nose and Throat dr. the other day and it was a rather startling experience. There’s nothing quite like being treated like an ignorant moron who is dumber than a pile of dirt in front of one’s child while one’s child is being talked about like he and/or his mother is/are lazy, stoopid slobs. We survived. God is still on the throne and He graciously and mercifully had his hand over my mouth. I hope to never have a repeat of that, but life is like that sometimes. Everybody has their bad days.
Speaking of ears, I keep meaning to share a link to this catalog: Simply Whispers
If your ears are pierced and you need hypoallergenic ear rings, Simply Whispers is worth checking into. I have gotten hypoallergenic ear rings from places like Walmart only to find out over time that it’s merely the thin outer coating of the post, the coating that will eventually wear off, that is hypoallergenic. Simply Whispers ear rings are not like that, apparently. Check it out for yourself.
Oh yeah. By the way, they sell sterile ear piercing kits. Out of frustration this winter when my mother was having such difficult complications from a surgery she had, I allowed my second holes to close up. I was tired of dealing with constant irritation, swelling and general ickyness caused by what I now know to be bad ear rings. I decided to give it another shot with their ear rings since the pairs I have are working out for me. Brace yourselves because I pierced my own ears–both of them and no I did not faint at all–and they are doing great! That was a weird experience, to say the least! But I like wearing ear rings so I did it and survived!
Speaking of survival, Latin is very much alive and well. I’m taking a break from making an index of Mrs. Widowneighbor’s flower photo album to post here. It’s rather a long process because she has pretty cursive but as with a lot of pretty writing, it’s kind of hard to tell at times what she has written.
Firefox has a Google search box that brings up matching search strings as you type them in. I am learning a LOT because I have been using that with almost every single plant name to verify the spelling. She has a 100 page photo album with 2 photos on each page (front and back) and pretty writing for each and every photo. I love her and hate to do a half brained job for anyone but especially her. It’s a really good thing for the Google box or I’d be handing her an index with a hundred million misspelled words.
Well, I suppose I had better get back to this Smilax herbacea before it stinks up the house.
